Bras of the Bay

What an honor:

What an incredible event to be part of. Earlier this year, Wings of Change was asked to participate and design a bra for the 10th annual  Bras of the Bay in Green Bay, Wisconsin. Each year, Plastic Surgery & Skin Specialists by BayCare Clinic hosts BRAs of the Bay to help close the loop on breast cancer and raise awareness of the breast reconstruction rights of breast cancer patients and those who need risk-reducing mastectomies. 

Federal law mandates coverage of breast reconstruction surgery for most patients who have had mastectomies, even if reconstruction is delayed until after cancer treatment is completed. Undergoing breast reconstruction can have profound physical and emotional benefits for women. It can help enhance their confidence and self-image after a mastectomy. While reconstruction may not be right for every patient, every patient should know their rights. Up to the event, there was an opportunity for everyone to see all the amazing creativity and motivation that goes behind the creations, and vote on their favorite. I am very honored and excited to announce that Wings of Change received first place. We have been blessed by this acknowledgement, and very proud of our design

 What an incredible night. Over 50 beautifully designed bras were on display, each one created with such heart and purpose. The room was filled with strength, energy, perseverance, and unwavering support from everyone in attendance. Wings of Change didn’t walk away with any awards this year—but that’s not what this night is truly about. It’s about coming together as one community, standing with those who have faced or are currently facing breast cancer. It’s about survivors supporting survivors, lifting each other up, and honoring every story of courage.

I dedicate this bra to my dad. I lost my dad last year, the night of the event. He was so proud of last years bra, and couldn't wait to see this years. I know he would be proud of this one too.
